HESLB YAFUNGUA DIRISHA LA RUFAA KWA SIKU TANO | The Higher Education Student Loans Board (HESLB) today (Saturday, November 6, 2021) has opened a referral window to enable applicants who have not been offered loans or need additional loan rates for the 2021/2022 academic year to submit their applications. "This window will be open for five days, from today, November 6 to 10, 2021 and is an opportunity for all students, first-year and undergraduates, to submit their applications for loan increases or placements for those who have not been scheduled so far," he said. said Dr. Veronica Nyahende, Director of Analysis and Credit Planning of HESLB.
Regarding the procedure for submitting an appeal, Dr. Nyahende said all appeals should be submitted online as the basic application was submitted. "Through this window, we urge loan applicants to read the instructions carefully and adhere to them… including putting documents proving their need that they had not previously set," stressed Dr. Nyahende.
Meanwhile, Drs. Nyahende clarified about the students who are continuing their studies and who had applied for a loan for the year 2021/2022 and said that their applications have been analyzed and those who are qualified have already been allocated a loan. "We call these 'first time continuing applicants', and we have already arranged and put their information in SIPA and since they are experienced, when they come in they will see… college loan officers also have their information," said Dr. Nyahende.
Regarding the payment of money to students who are assigned loans, Dr. Nyahende said HESLB has sent funds to all colleges for first year students who have been allocated loans and reminded the students to come to the college loan offices to complete the procedures for receiving the funds.
